DVD Format & Packaging Options
Although the programmability and power of DVD authoring capabilities can make formatting options seem virtually unlimited. We have created a set of options ranging from a Basic Format, an expanding set of Template Format Solutions, as well as totally Custom Projects where almost anything is possible!
Basic Format & Packaging:
Typically, basic videotape tranfers and film conversions are produced using this format. It meets the needs of many of our customers who primarily want existing tapes and films transferred directly to DVD.
This format has the following attributes:
- Insert & Play; when the DVD is placed in a player, it begins playing the contents without any interaction by the viewer.
- Skip-Thru Capabilities; skip-points are created on the DVD track at evenly spaced time-codes (ie: 10 or 15 minutes), so that viewer may 'skip-thru' the playback (forward & reverse) by pushing buttons on the DVD player remote control.
- Up to 2 Hrs. Of Video; Although various video compression and encoding methods exist, best results are achieved by limiting DVD video content to 2 hours of play time. Longer videotapes are best handled by spliting them over multiple DVD's, and shorter tapes can be combined onto one DVD. Please note that splitting long tapes or combining shorter tapes involves a $10 per tape surcharge.
- Labelling & Packaging; Finished DVD is provided in a clear plastic case, with the title of your choice printed onto the disc.
This is an economical and effective solution for many of our customers, with pricing starting from just $25 for a basic single videotape transfer - or $35 for Int'l videotape conversions. Film-to-DVD pricing is based on the size of the film reels, and each reel can be produced on individual DVD's, or multiple reels combined onto one or more DVD's.
